Hi everyone,

I’m reaching out to you regarding Kumo, my little cat who is currently hospitalised at the vets. ❤️

She has fluid on her lungs and, despite the initial tests, the vets haven’t yet been able to determine what caused this effusion. She’s staying in over the weekend on a drip and needs a chest ultrasound to try and find the cause.

The hospitalisation costs have already reached around £450. If the ultrasound doesn’t lead to a diagnosis, Kumo will need a CT scan, which on its own costs around £340, not counting any additional tests or treatment.

I’ve started a fundraiser to help cover her medical care and continue with the tests needed to treat her. Unfortunately, the fees are likely to increase over time and it’s already very hard for me to cope with right now.

Kumo has been part of my life and my family for 10 years now. Seeing her in need and not being able to give her everything she needs immediately makes me feel like I’m not living up to the love she’s given me every day for all these years. I just want to be able to get her treated so she can get back the comfort and health she deserves.

I know many of us have pets and not everyone can necessarily help financially. But if you can donate, even just a few pounds, or simply share the fundraiser, it would already be a massive help for Kumo. 🐾❤️

Thank you to everyone who takes the time to read and share. ❤️

    Hello,

I am so sorry for what you are going through with Kumo. I truly hope that the tests will quickly help to get to the bottom of what is happening and, most importantly, provide her with the care she needs.

You are already doing everything you can for her by having her hospitalised and allowing the vets to carry out the necessary tests. Don't feel guilty about not being able to cope with everything easily: the important thing is that you're looking for solutions and being there for her.

I wish her lots of strength and I'm sending you many positive thoughts for the next few days.

    Best wishes,

    Victoire

Unfortunately, it sounds like your cat has heart disease, which then causes fluid build-up around the lungs and pulmonary oedema. It is very serious and can be fatal when it reaches an advanced stage. I hope the vet can help and that she is able to recover. Best of luck.
