My dog has just swallowed a 100mg enteric-coated aspirin tablet. He weighs 55kg (about 8 stone 9 lbs). Is there any risk to him?

    Hello,

Aspirin is toxic to dogs. The toxic dose is between 50 and 100 mg per kg (roughly 23 to 45 mg per lb), so a 100mg tablet shouldn't theoretically cause any issues. However, I strongly recommend taking your dog to a vet now, or if you notice any of the following signs in the coming hours: rapid breathing, nausea or vomiting, collapse, or seizures.

    Best regards,

    Quitterie
