Could he be part Nebelung?Hello, could you tell us if our cat is a Nebelung? Unfortunately, we don't know anything about his history before he turned up in our garden at about 6 weeks old, a skinny little kitten covered in burrs. Since then, he has grown up and become this beautiful and very sweet-natured cat, always glued to us and our dog.

    Hi there,

Unfortunately, it is impossible to confirm for certain that a cat is a Nebelung based on its appearance alone. The Nebelung is a relatively rare breed, and identification usually relies on a pedigree or a known ancestry; a cat showing the breed's characteristics but without a pedigree will generally be considered a domestic medium-hair.

Nebelungs do indeed have a medium-long, dense and silky coat, typically blue-grey, with green to yellow-green eyes. However, many domestic cats can display these exact same features, especially when they are crossbreeds.

    All the best,

    Inès
