My 14-year-old male cat, RamĂłn, has lost over 3 lbs in a very short space of time and now weighs just 8.6 lbs. The vet hasn't been able to find anything concrete yet; the blood test results are due on Monday.
In the meantime, he hasn't eaten ANYTHING for 5 days straight. Before the trip to the vet, he was even bringing up water and tiny bites of food immediately. After being on a drip, he is thankfully keeping water down, but he's completely refusing food, even his favourite meals.
He is very lethargic, but he is still drinking and, strangely enough, he's still using the litter tray.
Has anyone ever been through something like this and do you have any tips? Is there anything else I can try to get him to eat or any warning signs I should be keeping a close eye on?
I’m incredibly worried and am hoping to gather as much useful advice as possible while waiting for the blood results.
❤️ Thank you so much in advance for your input
