Bald patches with scabbing can also be caused by a bacterial infection, mange, parasites (fleas, harvest mites), dermatitis, or an injury. Since it’s a young puppy, I’d advise booking an appointment with a vet as soon as possible. They will be able to carry out a skin examination and, if necessary, further tests to give you an accurate diagnosis and start the right treatment. In the meantime, avoid picking the scabs or handling the affected areas. Wash your hands after handling your puppy, because if it is indeed ringworm, it can be passed on to humans and other animals. Finally, don’t apply any creams or medicines without a vet’s advice, as some products can be unsuitable or may mask the lesions.
