Hi everyone, I need some advice regarding my cat. She is always wanting to wander around the area near our house where we have an open field that isn't fenced off. She also can't stand my sister-in-law's two cats who live right behind us and also have an unfenced garden. Whenever she goes out, I have to watch her constantly. If I let her go where she wants, even though it's only been two months since her hind leg was amputated, will she come back? If you've been through this or are experiencing it now, I'd really appreciate your advice or hearing about your experiences. Thanks in advance.

    Hi, Generally speaking, if your cat was already coming home before the amputation, there’s no reason why she wouldn't continue to do so. Most cats cope very well with one less leg and get back to a normal life relatively quickly. Check with your vet first to see if she is in a "fit state" to go out (regarding the wound, her rehab, etc.).
