Hi, I have a 15-year-old cat who has had thyroid issues for a year now. She is on Apelka twice a day, but she is constantly begging for food. I am at my wits' end trying to satisfy her massive appetite. Does anyone have any advice for me, please?

Hi there, Yes, hyperthyroidism can definitely make cats very hungry, as their bodies are essentially working 'on overdrive' and burning through a lot of energy. Since your cat is 15 and has been on treatment for a year, I think a check-up with the vet would be helpful to make sure her thyroid levels are well-balanced and that her weight and kidneys are doing okay. In the meantime, you could try splitting her daily food into several small meals so she feels like she's eating more often. Best of luck, Maëlla
