❤️ 12-year-old Kafi needs your help
Kafi is about 12 years old. He's a rescue from the streets of La Réunion and his exact birth date is unknown. He’s a lovely little dog, brave and incredibly endearing.
For several months now, something hasn't been right. It all started with severe neck pain. Since then, Kafi has been holding one of his front paws up almost constantly, has difficulty walking, has lost muscle in his shoulder and also shows issues with his back legs.
Despite seeing several vets and having numerous tests, including X-rays and a CT myelogram under anaesthetic, we still don't have a diagnosis.
His condition has recently worsened to the point of needing hospitalisation. He has notably had significant digestive issues, including vomiting and refusing to eat, on top of his already unexplained mobility problems. He is currently on an IV drip and a feeding tube following a worrying abdominal ultrasound, which suggests he needs an endoscopy under general anaesthetic as soon as he is stable enough to handle it.
And that's without even mentioning the neurological investigations required.
Specialist consultations, tests, hospitalisation and treatments have led to very high costs that have been piling up since May.
