Hi everyone,

I've been looking for some fun ways to play with my dog lately, but everything I find online is mostly articles from online pet shops repeating the same old ideas like snuffle mats or fetch. That's why I wanted to ask if you have any good ideas for games you play with your dogs?

I found this one site with various dog games, but is there anything else interesting you could recommend?

    Hi,

I’d say that the games you play with your dog will be more engaging if you tailor them to their breed. You can actually come up with games without having to buy any new toys.

For instance, herding breeds need both physical and mental stimulation. You should give them tasks that get them moving and thinking. For example, you could throw a ball and ask them to drop it in a basket.

With terriers or hounds, they have a brilliant sense of smell, so you could teach them to find a treat within a specific area. Just make sure to always use a command for the search, otherwise they might start rummaging around the house; don't be afraid to try this outdoors too. Start off slowly by showing them where you're hiding the treat, then gradually increase the difficulty.

I hope these ideas give you a bit of inspiration for your dog.

    All the best,

    Quitterie.
