I’m so sorry to hear about your dog’s diagnosis. That must feel incredibly overwhelming and heartbreaking for you.

In addition to the treatment prescribed by your veterinarian, there are also some practical ways you can support yourself and Cooper during this difficult time.

Keeping daily routines consistent will reduce stress, along with plenty of calm attention and company to help keep him feeling as relaxed and reassured as possible.

High-quality, palatable food is also a good idea. You may find he prefers smaller, more frequent meals as he undergoes treatment. Keeping a record of his appetite, energy and symptoms will help your vet adjust his care quickly if needed.

It can be so emotionally taxing to care for a sick pet. Online support groups may provide some comfort during this time, as they offer a safe space to share your experience with others going through the same.

Sending my best wishes to you and Cooper,

    Greta
