Hello

Is it normal to have these small white deposits visible at the base of the vulva when I part my *****'s vulva? She's been spayed.

She's 11 and a half, a Staffie, and she doesn't lick her vulva at all, and there's no smell.

I had a urine analysis done yesterday and everything came back clear.

Thanks Small white discharge around my *****'s vulva

    Hi,

At first glance, it doesn’t look too worrying: she doesn’t seem bothered by it, the discharge isn't smelly, and there's only a small amount. What might be a cause for concern is the fact that it’s slightly opaque (white rather than clear) and that you haven’t noticed it until now.

You could perhaps try cleaning the area with a bit of water and some kitchen roll (non-irritating) to see how quickly the discharge reappears. Keep an eye on her; if her condition gets worse, see your vet.

A urine test is a good first step, and it might also be worth doing a blood smear to check for the start of a urinary infection. I’d recommend mentioning this to your vet at her next appointment and keeping hold of this video.

    Best regards,

    Quitterie
