Hello, I have an 11-week-old kitten born in the hay behind our house. His bottom is very red; he’s seen two vets since the 10th of June. He’s had treatment for digestive issues and has been wormed twice. Nine days ago, he was given a long-acting steroid injection intended to last for three weeks. I feel like it’s still the same; his anus is still very protruded. I’m monitoring it, keeping it moist and applying a bit of Vaseline as the vet told me to. I’m starting to get really worried—do you have any advice? The vet told me to wait the full three weeks and just keep a close eye on him. Other than that, the little guy is eating well, his stools are normal, he doesn’t strain when going, and he doesn’t seem bothered by the problem. The vet doesn’t want to do a purse-string suture; he isn't in favour of it.
