Small white spot on the corner of his lip.

Evening everyone,

I’m posting because I’d like to get some advice; I noticed yesterday that my puppy has a small white bump at the corner of his mouth. It doesn’t seem to hurt when I touch it, but since he won’t sit still when I try to have a look, I’m not sure if he’s bothered by me touching it or just by me trying to hold him.

Here is a photo of the spot in question:

I doubt it’s anything serious, but I’d prefer to get your thoughts. Thanks a lot!

It’s probably just puppy acne, my pup had it too! With some antibacterial dog gel, it clears up in no time!

    Hi, thanks for your reply.

Just to let you know, I managed to have a proper look today as my puppy was much calmer. He let me examine him as much as I liked. The little lump was covered by a tiny white "scab", which I removed. After having a bit of a feel, I noticed the lump is soft, painless, and turns red if you squeeze it slightly. I’ve disinfected it and I’m leaving it alone for now. I’ll wait a few days and, if need be, I’ll take him to the vet.

Hi there, It’s hard to tell what it is just from a photo. You could wait two or three days to see if it clears up on its own, but if it doesn’t subside or if you’re getting too worried, don’t hesitate to book an appointment with your vet for a professional opinion!
