Small lump on his penis

Hi everyone,

I’m probably worrying about nothing, but for a little while now my dog has been nibbling at his tail and his bum, and he occasionally nips at his balls too :/

I’ve been to see the vet who said it might just be a small itchy sore, so he had a steroid jab (I think), but nothing has changed.

I went back to the vet and we decided to give him some medication to calm him down, as she thinks it’s a behavioural issue.

But he’s still nibbling away.

Coming home from work today, I noticed two little lumps in the middle of his penis area.

I’ve no idea if this is normal or not?

If anyone could give me some advice on why he’s nibbling himself and whether this lump on his privates is normal?

Hi, my Jack Russell is nearly 2 years old and has something like what's in the photo, but it’s only one lump and it’s smaller. I’ve noticed him licking the area... I get the feeling he’s been stung. He isn't aroused, but where the lump is looks really serious. Can you help me?! Have any of your vets ever said anything about this? Thanks.

I’ve got a feeling he might have been stung or bitten. He isn't "excited", but where the lump is looks really bad. Can anyone help?! Has your vet ever said anything about this kind of thing? Thanks.

Evening, my dog has exactly the same thing as in the photo. He’s not nibbling at it though, and it’s definitely not an erection either!... The penis is all swollen and there are these two weird lumps right underneath, and they aren't his testicles. It doesn't look right at all. I’ve got three male dogs and it’s the first time I’ve seen this. Could it possibly be an insect bite?..

Hi everyone! I’ve got a German Shepherd with exactly the same lump!!! We’re still really worried though!! Mind you, our dog’s behaviour hasn’t changed at all!!!! I’m calling the vet tomorrow!!!! Because I really don’t want it to be a tumour!!! If anyone could reassure me!!! That would be brilliant!!!

Those two little lumps are normal, my dog's got the same thing.

As for the rest, did the vet check to see if he’s got blocked anal glands?

Err, my neutered dog has exactly the same thing...

But you can only see it when the skin is taut and he's lying on his back.
