Puppy's bad breath

Hello!

I'm posting here because I’ve just got a little Jack Russell, a 2-month-old puppy, and her breath smells like salami...

At first, I thought that where she was before, they might have given her some, but she’s been on dry food since she’s been with me and nothing has changed...

She’s seeing the vet on Wednesday, but in the meantime, does anyone have any ideas?

Yeah, I know it doesn't exactly smell like sausages lol, but then if it’s their first puppy, I guess you could get confused. I dunno, to be honest I love that 'baby' smell too, but those sorts of smells are a bit weird. Hopefully he’ll grow out of it soon.

Matekk, puppy breath shouldn't smell like salami; I actually quite like the smell of puppy breath.

Tartar, bad dry food, milk teeth... it could be loads of things. Your vet will be able to tell you.

I’d heard that it could be down to their milk teeth, but it’s best to have a word with your vet.

    Alexabby,

I think if you’re seeing the vet on Wednesday, you should definitely mention it to them. we were actually just talking on another thread with a member whose puppy smells like fish!!!

It could be down to the anal glands, etc...

But since you’re seeing the vet the day after tomorrow, you can bring it up with them then; unfortunately, there isn’t much you can do in the meantime!!

Your puppy will be getting a check-up anyway, so just make sure you talk to the vet about this smell!!

Hi, are you sure it's not just the baby's smell? Because they have a bit of a special breath, don't they? Mind you, I haven't smelled it myself lol
