We brought a little Jack Russell puppy into our family about 2 weeks ago.
He is 2 months and 3 weeks old.
This is the first time I've ever had a dog, so I don't know if this is normal, though I suspect there might be a problem.
During the day, he's peeing about twenty times, if not more! He goes every 15 to 20 minutes unless he's asleep. At night, however, I don't have that issue; he only goes once to three times at most.
Has anyone else dealt with this kind of thing before?
Thanks in advance.

Personally, I'm not that worried...
But then again, getting a vet's opinion never hurts.
Puppies only being put up for adoption at 3 months... yeah, right... for most of them it’s 2 months, isn’t it?
I got him from a private seller, and looking back, I did think he was very young to be rehomed.
He definitely drinks quite a lot, but I’m not sure if it’s a normal amount for his size. On that note, how much water should I actually be giving my puppy each day?
I was actually planning on calling the vet tomorrow as I’m starting to get really worried, and it’s all becoming quite a concern!
Puppies do pee more often than adult dogs, but 20 times... that seems like far too much! Where did you get him from? Usually, puppies aren't ready to be rehomed until they're 3 months old. It's possible you bought him from an environment where there were already some underlying health issues. They normally only need to go every two hours or so. By the way, how much water is he drinking a day?
Otherwise, there could be a few reasons:
- He’s poorly
- He’s anxious
You’d be better off seeing a vet, just in case!
It’s totally normal, don't worry.
Just start house training them bit by bit.
At that age, their whole system isn’t fully functional or developed yet.
Whatever goes in has to come out! :-)
