Odd behaviour with her cuddly toy

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to understand why Fiona is "acting" this way with her cuddly toy. She got a new plushie a few days ago, and she's behaving quite strangely with it.

She hasn't shredded it (which is very rare for her), and she's taking great care of it.

She hides it at the back of her crate and sits on top of it so no one can take it. She also dives under the duvets with it in her mouth, and if we're unlucky enough to take it from her, she jumps up and whines until we give it back.

In the end, we don't actually play with her using this toy because I feel like it's driving her a bit mad.

Then she'll pick it up in her mouth, wander all over the house with it, and look for THE perfect spot to hide it and herself away.

If she can't find the right spot, she whines and paces around in circles.

Does anyone have an explanation for this?

To help dry up Praline's milk, the vet gave us some herbal remedies—chasteberry and artichoke—and it seems to be working!! @Tshika, have a lovely day and try to relax!! Love, I'm thinking of you.

Your girl's having a phantom pregnancy; mine's the same, unfortunately. I don't have a miracle cure, but it usually lasts for a week, maybe three at most, and happens two or three times a year. Good luck! ✌️

Yes, so we’ll see on Friday, that’s for the best, and if that really is what’s going on, I’ve already booked some time off in early March to push back the spaying (perpetual worrier that I am! ^^) Tania, does Geny do that every time she’s in season? With CSVs, their seasons are usually further apart, aren’t they (once a year)? Normally yes, once a year, but Genesys is irregular so it’s twice a year. But very little bleeding. And yes, a phantom pregnancy.

Hey Fifi, I was in meetings all day yesterday so I’ve only just caught up on this little setback with Fifi. Anyway, no need to panic for now... I've just got to be patient (not my strong suit!) until Friday... Angéline, keep us posted on your girls!!

Keep yourself busy! Go and hit the shops, see some friends, or do some cleaning ^^

No worries, I'll let you know on Friday. I'll pop by your thread at the end of the day to see how your two are doing.

Oh, I totally understand your anxiety ^^ my girls are getting spayed today... Haaa, I’m chain-smoking (not good, I know...) but it feels so strange not seeing them charging around the flat like mad things. Will you come back and let us know how your little girl is doing?

Yeah, it’s definitely hard seeing that for yourself sometimes, especially when you don’t really dare touch it or anything.
