Evening all,

I've got a two-year-old Jack Russell (Fox Terrier cross). I feed him one bowl in the morning and one in the evening, and I take him out three or four times a day for 30 minutes to an hour in total. Despite this, he does at least four poos every single walk! I've wormed him and everything, so is it normal for him to be going this often?

    Hi there, The number of poos is often linked to diet... My dog used to eat supermarket dry food and he’d have four smelly poos a day. Since switching to grain-free dry food, he’s down to only one or two a day and no more gas... but four poos in a single walk? There’s probably another issue besides just his diet...

    I had this exact problem with my dog for a while, then she started showing other symptoms like bloody diarrhoea. It turns out she actually suffers from digestive hypersensitivity. We managed to resolve the issue with daily sucralfate (like Antepsin) and a prescription diet. You should definitely take your dog to the vet to get to the bottom of what's causing it.
