17.5 lbs, she’s a proper big girl! Mine is nearly 11 lbs at 5 months, but she’s got quite short legs. Since she’s already had her first season, I reckon she’s just about finished growing upwards. She loves going out for walks with me, and she’s over the moon whenever I tell her it’s time to run. No canicross for now as she’s a bit young, but it’s definitely on the cards for the future.

Thanks, mine will be 8 months old on 14/12. He weighs about 19lbs (8.7kg) and stands 34cm tall. He runs for 40 minutes a day as we do canicross together, and on Sundays we go for an hour. He absolutely loves it! :)

    Hi everyone,

Jack Russell Terriers are considered a small breed, which means their adult weight will usually be between 11 and 13 lbs, and they’ll typically stand about 10 to 12 inches tall.

Because they’re a small breed, Jack Russells reach their full size quite quickly, often around 3 or 4 months old. They mature fairly early, so their bone growth is almost finished by the time they’re ready for adoption. However, it’s really important to keep a close eye on your puppy’s food during this time; if they overeat, there’s a real risk of obesity. That said, do make sure you're feeding them enough so they don't end up with any nutritional deficiencies.

If you're worried that your puppy's growth seems a bit off, don't hesitate to pop into your vet so they can check that your pet is in good health.

    Have a good one,

    Irène
