When they have dressings with adhesive tape, I ease them off gently by soaking them in sweet almond oil...
But to be honest, none of mine had bandages after being neutered.... (for my three dogs....)

Well, just from my own experience... with my cats, I just waited for them to take it off themselves... never tried it with the dog though...

I might have a tip that worked for my whole lot after they were neutered. What’s the bandage like? When I had my dogs and cats done, the vet used what they call an 'American dressing'—it's grey—followed by gauze and then that really sticky vet wrap with holes in the sides; basically, it’s a total nightmare to get off!
But I managed to get the perforated bandage off, and there's a great trick for it: ether. You need to soak the sticky edges of the bandage with ether and pull it away very gently while holding the skin steady. The rest of the bandage will just peel right off! I’m fairly sure the vet gave me a prescription for it, but you could try the chemist; if you explain the situation, they might let you have some. Just soaking the middle of the bandage won't work—the only way to shift a vet-grade bandage is ether (done it four times now).
Best of luck!

Personally, I didn't have a dressing for my dog's neuter, but I did for my cat's spay. I couldn't get it off myself. I’d been advised to dampen the edges, but it didn't work. I ended up taking her back to the vet so I wouldn't hurt her too much, but the vet was actually less gentle than I was and she really shrieked.
Usually, they come off after a few days, so I’d suggest giving your vet a ring—they should be able to tell you. Don't leave it too long, though, as the dressing gets dirty and becomes a breeding ground for germs.
