Hi everyone, I'm looking for a specific type of dog that I've never come across before. Based on my research, it's supposedly an American Pit Bull Terrier, 'black panther' type. I've attached some photos to show you what I mean.

Is that the correct name for the breed?

And where would I be able to get a dog like this?

Thanks in advance for the help..

Where can I find this gorgeous dog?

It’s a Pit Bull, so the ears have been cropped. The photo must have been edited to make the dogs look more intimidating, and I find it really strange to talk about a dog as if it were an object... Yeah, that’s exactly what we’re saying 😉

Well, from what I’ve read, I think they’ve outcrossed with Cane Corsos to get those yellow eyes, yeah. It’s just like all those cat breeds where Siamese was used to get the "pointed" coat.

I’m not sure if it’s a Cane Corso, but anyway, this one looks "normal" at least!

Whereas the other one has weird eyes that look really photoshopped.

    Isn't that a Cane Corso??

Have a look at these photos of black CCs with pale yellow eyes, looks quite similar, doesn't it?

Personally, I love black dogs, especially short-haired ones. But I’m a bit sceptical here and would want to see the dog in the flesh, because Photoshop can work wonders...

That’s exactly what I’ve been thinking from the start. This dog really doesn’t look natural, especially those eyes – they look more like a werewolf's than a dog's!

Surely those eyes have been photoshopped, haven't they? He looks like a CGI dog straight out of a sci-fi movie! Body-wise, he’s built quite like a big Rhodesian! Same with that whip-like tail... He’s much bigger than a Pitbull, isn't he? Either way, you're right... seeing as people already cross the road to avoid my Ridgeback, I can't even imagine what it’s like with this dog...! Personally, I hate seeing dogs with cropped ears... it makes them look so fierce straight away. And besides, ears are just so lovely and soft to stroke...

Just to be clear, I never said the dog was "ugly"—my point wasn't about looks at all. I was talking about the hype surrounding them.

When people spend thousands of pounds on a dog, they aren’t just buying a dog; they’re buying into the whole dream they're being sold. It’s actually quite interesting to analyse if you want to dig a bit deeper. Some breeders really do live up to their reputation, while others don't quite hit the mark.
