The Laughing Cow?

Hi everyone

Just wondering if I could give some as treats every now and then? Of course, I could do my own research, but it's much nicer to get your opinions on here...

My girl has a sensitive tummy, so I'm a bit paranoid, and since it's chilled cheese... I'm just not sure 😅

Thanks a lot! And if you have any other ideas, I'd love to hear them.

For Amie des Boxers, it’s Ortis Beneflora from the chemist for both you and your pooch... and then follow it up with a course of organic blond psyllium husk... 👌

ADB, are you waiting for your partner's day off just to bring up the possibility of giving your dog half a yoghurt? You two are the ones who are sweet, actually! 😁 We just like to take the time to talk things through and make sure we’re on the same page. When it comes to Orphée, we’re very particular! 😁 It seems a bit daft over half a yoghurt, but it’s the principle of the thing really 😅 it’s better to be in agreement...

So, thinking about it, I’m more keen on the idea of sharing the food with her, but I’ll have to find something my own stomach can handle as well. The Laughing Cow or cream cheese probably won't agree with me – I've got a really sensitive stomach too!

Gandy is the same—too much cheese and you have to watch out for the aftermath! :p But generally speaking, he’s usually alright. :) I used to be quite strict about letting Gandy have a taste or sharing my food; I was worried about him picking up bad habits, especially if the rest of the family started doing it all wrong (you know what families are like! :'D)... In the end, now, every so often—and actually more and more frequently—I let him try bits of things. It’s funny to see his reaction... even if his take on plain fruit and veg hasn't changed: absolute betrayal! XD And sometimes, if I’m having a goat’s or sheep’s milk yoghurt in the evening, I let him lick the pot out; he loves it. ^^ Anyway, as for Laughing Cow, there's no real problem with it basically. Give it a go and you’ll soon see if it ends in a stinky bum or a lovely new treat ritual for Orphée. ;) (Or both! X'D)

If it’s any comfort, my dog doesn’t touch our picnic even when we’re eating right on the ground (which happens when we’re out hiking ^^).

She doesn’t beg at the table for the simple reason that she’s never been fed from it!

Sharing things with your dog doesn’t stop you from setting whatever rules you want.

Every time I give Delta one in a Kong, she gets the runs! :) Try something else if she’s got a sensitive tummy.

Seriously though, letting your pet taste things isn't just cute, it's what life’s all about, isn't it? I mean... who wants to go through life without ever knowing what pizza tastes like? Not me! Taste is a sense that needs awakening too :-) Besides, my dog didn't wait for me to try a bit of carrion, then some lovely ripe raspberries, then a fig... dogs were around long before dry food existed.

Hi there, I’ve never had any issues with Laughing Cow; I used to use it to plug her Kong. I’d put bits of dried meat or treats inside and seal it all up with the cheese, so she had to lick it all out to get the rest to drop out. The moment she sees me get the cheese out, she’s following me everywhere. She really makes me laugh when she’s eating it; I think she squashes it against the roof of her mouth, she really savours it. She’ll lick my fingers and even the foil at the end. In general, I let my dog try a bit of everything; as long as it’s only a small amount, it’s fine. I usually eat at the coffee table and save a few bits for her towards the end—she knows the drill and gets really attentive at that point! I quite like the idea of sharing, it doesn't bother me at all, and she isn’t pushy or intrusive with her begging when we’re visiting family or friends.

That’s exactly it—Orphée has her treats and she’s really happy with them, but I was thinking of more of a shared experience...

A friend of mine has a nightly ritual with her Yorkie: she has a yoghurt and then gives half to her dog (so she only ends up eating half a yoghurt herself lol) but I just thought it was... so cute 😍

I mentioned it to my partner who just said "yeah, not so sure" 😂😂, I’ll have to catch him on his day off 😈

But it is cute, isn't it? All that bonding! It’s not like I’d be letting her eat off our plates. I think it’s a form of training too—building that connection!

Like that example of a homeless guy sharing his sandwich (mind you, I think I saw that in a film)...

I’m currently getting my arguments ready!
