A lump appeared on my dog's cheek in just a few minutes, and I suspect it might be a wasp sting or some other insect bite. I'd love to get your thoughts on it as I'm quite worried.

My Falco has had this since this morning too. I’ve been to the vet but didn't get a clear diagnosis; he had an anti-inflammatory injection, but the swelling still hasn't gone down this evening so I’m heading back tomorrow. I know this is an old thread, but if anyone who’s been through the same thing could give me their take, I’d really appreciate it as I’m so worried. Thanks 🙂

Seeing a vet would be the wisest thing to do!

I’ve noticed the same thing on my Lab recently. A lump appeared in the same spot—it went down a bit but then came back again. It first happened after we’d been out in the woods, and it seems to flare up again after woodland walks. Could it be an allergy or some kind of bite? It doesn’t seem to hurt her when it’s touched. She isn’t bothered by it at all and is acting completely normally (eating her meals, etc.). She hasn’t got a temperature. The lump itself doesn't feel hard.

I’ve got the same thing with my Lab recently. A lump appeared in the same spot, went down a bit, and then came back. It started after we’d been out in the woods and it keeps reappearing after our walks there. Maybe an allergy or a sting? It doesn't seem to hurt her when I touch it. She isn't bothered by it at all and is acting completely normally (eating fine, etc.). She hasn't got a temperature. The lump itself doesn't feel hard underneath.

She’s got another lump, smaller than the other one, but this time it’s near her eye. Could it be stings again, twice in a row, or maybe an allergy?

I can't really tell from the photo. Maybe an abscess?

The lump has completely gone down this morning, so it looks like it wasn't anything serious after all. She must have been stung. Thanks for all your great advice!

I’d say it’s a sting. Keep a close eye on your dog for any unusual signs, and if the swelling doesn’t go down, see a vet.

Right, I’m not sure if you’ll be able to see it very well as it’s quite tricky to get a photo of her where it shows up properly.
