My puppy gulps down her dry food and then vomits

Evening all,

My puppy (nearly 5 months old) just gulps down her dry food without chewing. She’s finished her meal in less than 30 seconds.

She has just brought up all of her food. I think it’s because she’s eating way too fast and isn’t chewing at all.

Do you think I could switch her over to adult dry food so that she has to chew? :s

Thanks in advance.

Every dog is different! You're asking why your dog is being sick, so I'm giving you some possible solutions—it’s up to you what you do with them.

Just so you know, the brand really does matter! I know it’s not the main point here, of course... but do keep it in mind for the sake of your pets!!! :D

Okay, thanks. I'll look into some medium dry food then.

Well, maybe try some medium-sized dry food! Since the pieces are too small, he’s just gulping them down!!! But don't switch him over to adult food just yet...

My eldest is on supermarket dry food and she isn't sick.

Anyway, I had a feeling the conversation would turn to this.

If it’s supermarket dry food, it’s no wonder your dog is being sick....

I’m feeding him puppy kibble (it has to be the mini variety). I won’t name the brand, otherwise things will just get a bit heated ;) My puppy is a Jack Russell cross Pinscher.

Anyway, what exactly is a slow feeder bowl?

What breed is your dog? What dry food are you feeding them? (medium, small, large??)

Er, no, don't switch her over to adult dry food.

Try putting a heavy ball in her bowl to slow down how fast she eats, or you could always buy a proper slow feeder bowl...
