My dog is struggling to open her mouth properly

Hi everyone,

I've noticed that my dog, who is usually very playful, hasn't wanted to play for a few days now. Since I have a one-month-old baby, I’ll admit I initially thought it was just down to that, as I’m obviously very busy with the little one – even though I do try to spend time with my dogs while the baby is napping... anyway.

Today, I’ve noticed that she’s actually struggling to open her mouth. For instance, when she yawns, she barely opens it at all... and when we try to play, she won't grab her toys.

How on earth is this possible? Could she have locked her jaw? I honestly have no idea :'( if anyone has any suggestions or advice...

Yes, she’s eating and drinking, but I’ve just noticed she isn’t actually chewing though... And yes, I’ve tried to look in her mouth but she won’t open it wide enough, but from what I saw nothing looks suspicious... So I’ll be calling the vet first thing tomorrow morning...
