Hi everyone! My Bichon Frisé is constantly swallowing and gulping, sometimes very loudly, and he makes noises with his mouth like we do when we have a dry, pasty mouth—if you know what I mean? I read on another forum that it could be a throat tumour, or could it just be a tic? I need to mention it to the vet again soon, but I’d like to hear any thoughts you might have. He’s been quite delicate since he was a puppy; he sometimes vomits bile with blood, or if he eats scraps (my one-year-old son is always dropping bits on the floor for him). He has also been treated for ulcers since he was a year old. When he growls properly (he’s a bit of a snappy little dog, quite aggressive and possessive even with me), he coughs and hacks, but nothing comes up—no blood or anything.
