Moles

Hi there,

My dog has these sorts of moles on his tummy, and they're quite raised. I'm definitely going to take him to see the vet, but I'd like to know if anyone else has dealt with this before, and if I should really be worried or not.

Moles

Thanks in advance

Hi everyone, my dog has what looks like a mole just above his left eye, about a centimetre away. It’s definitely not a tick. Should I be worried? It isn't getting any bigger. Thanks in advance.

I take it you don't want to reply to me anymore. That’s a shame, as there’s no such thing as a silly question as far as we’re concerned. I’m fairly certain it is indeed just her nipples, and they are exactly where they should be. Your dog is young, so a few months ago her nipples would have been flat, but as she grows, they develop just like everything else. Have a lovely evening.

Sorry to be a pain, but could I get a photo of the teats? Thanks.

He’s got three between his back legs and one on his tummy. They aren’t lined up at all. At first, he only had one that was getting bigger, and then others started appearing.

That’s exactly what I’m thinking, which is why I asked for another photo – and how many of them were there?

    Hi there,

If they've always been there, they might just be the nipples!

Check to see if they're symmetrical. There should be 10 of them!

    Have a lovely day,

    Chloe

Could you take a wider shot for us and show where the moles are located? How many of them are there?

Thanks for your reply. He’s treated for ticks, and I noticed it a few weeks ago and I think it’s getting bigger. I’ve had a look and I don’t think it’s a tick as there’s no head.

If this "mole" (in quotes) appeared just like that in 24–48 hours—basically the time it took for you to recognise it was there—it’s not a mole.

    Don't panic, but it’s probably a tick.

Is he protected against Lyme disease and has he had his tick tablets? If he is protected, it might die off on its own. Either way, the best thing to do is remove it (if it really is a tick) as soon as possible, preferably with a proper tick removal tool.
