Jack Russell cross Staffy

Hi everyone.

First of all, I hope you're all having a lovely festive season.

I’m after a bit of advice.

A friend wants to give me her puppy because she doesn't have the time to look after it (it was a gift from her sisters). It’s a Jack Russell cross Staffy, and I don’t really know much about what their temperament is like.

We live in a flat and have a one-year-old baby.

Do you think this will be an issue?

I’m giving it a lot of thought because I don’t want to take the pup on if I’m not 100% sure. I was originally planning on getting a Bulldog, so it’s a completely different kettle of fish.

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Have a good day.

Anyway, he’s absolutely gorgeous. What a bizarre idea to give a dog as a Christmas present without the future owner actually asking for one.

Thanks for your reply, I'll go and have a look.

I'm not sure if the mum is the Jack Russell.

A Jack Russell cross Staffy—I hope the mum is the Staffy. If you have any photos, I’d love to see him.

Like any puppy, he’ll get into a bit of mischief. I don't know much about Staffies, but I have a Jack Russell who’s hardly ever been naughty; I think that’s because we’re out and about a lot. She’s fine being left on her own when I go out or work, but on days when I’m working more than 8 hours—meaning I’m away for about ten hours—I get someone to look after her. Aside from house-training taking a bit of time, I haven’t had any problems.

Maybe you could spend some time at your friend’s house with the puppy to see if his temperament suits you.
