Hi everyone :)

I'm looking for a swimming spot where I can go for a dip with my dog.

The trouble is that either the water quality looks a bit dodgy, or it's a lovely spot but dogs are banned :/

So for those of you in Alsace, mainly Central Alsace, do you know of any nice spots? Even if it's in the south or north of the region, I wouldn't say no anyway :p

Thanks!

Definitely worth looking into the Vosges! A little afternoon trip like that could be lovely :)

Yeah, I know Lake Kruth-Wildenstein well, but I’m pretty sure swimming is strongly discouraged there :/

I know quite a few rivers, but my dog is a bit nervous about the water at the moment. I’d love to find somewhere where I can get in with him to help (like a beach entry, basically). With rivers, there’s often a bit of a current and, of course, his lordship isn’t comfortable with that x)

The problem is that here in Alsace, we have quite a few gravel pits and lakes, but most of them are patrolled and sadly, dogs are very often banned :/ As for the ones where they are allowed, the water quality isn't great at all :/

Hi, I live in the 68 area and I know of a spot for a dip, though I'm not entirely sure if swimming is allowed—it’s the lake just below the Bolenberg. You've also got Lake Kruth (I can't quite remember how it's spelt) right next to the treetop adventure park. Then there’s Lac Blanc, but I’m not sure if you can swim there, so you’d have to check. Hope that helps!

Hi there, I’d suggest using Google Maps, as it’s really easy to spot bodies of water on the map. I’ve personally never come across a lake or pond yet that was off-limits to dogs. Otherwise, come and visit the Vosges! There’s no shortage of lakes and ponds around here where you can let your dog have a dip. Have a good one!
