How many days into the pregnancy until you can feel them moving?

Hi everyone,

I'm checking in again to ask at what point during the pregnancy you can actually feel the puppies moving in her belly?

I’m naturally a bit of a worrier when it comes to my dog, but she’s still so active and doesn’t seem tired at all!

Pregnancy is such a lovely thing for our four-legged friends :)

She’s already 50 days along now.

Thanks

This post is over a year old.

Plus, you should do your research before your pet has a litter...

My dog’s puppies have been moving around a lot over the last two days. Does this mean she’s going into labour soon?

Thanks for the replies, everyone! My Frimousse is a right little nutter, even more so than before! She lives with her "fiancé" who won't leave her alone either; they’re constantly pouncing on each other! I think they’ve got endless energy. I’ve just posted a photo of Frimousse on my profile showing off her big tummy!

I have to admit, I never actually felt them moving in her tummy, and yet she’s just had 9 lovely puppies, so don’t worry, it doesn’t mean a thing... My girl was also really active right up until the end of her pregnancy; at 50 days, she was still going for an hour’s walk in the woods every day, on a lead of course, otherwise she would’ve been charging about as usual lol

It’s not enough just to put your hand on her tummy. Sometimes you have to wait for several minutes before you’ll feel any movement.

I’m bumping this thread to let you know that I’ve just seen movement in Frimousse’s tummy! It’s the first time I’ve seen anything moving in there, and it’s certainly not for lack of me stroking her belly. :)

I’m worried as I can’t feel any movement! I had an X-ray two weeks ago.

    Hi there,

At 50 days along, if she’s lying down quietly and you place your hand flat on her belly, you should be able to feel the puppies moving.

Are you planning to get an X-ray done to find out the exact number of puppies?
