Hi fellow Border Collie owners, I was wondering at what age your girls had their first season? My girl is nearly 7 months old now and I’ve started keeping a close eye on her. We do a lot of dog hiking and there are often entire males around, so I really don't want her getting caught.

PS: Laika is going to be spayed after her first season due to a vaginal infection that the vet says will only clear up with the bleeding during her season.

Hi there, Even though this is an old thread I thought I’d reply. My Border Collie has just come into season at 8 months old. We put a pair of fabric season pants on her at home – just some cheap ones we found online – and they’re really handy. She’s going to be spayed once her season is over.
