Could someone explain EXACTLY what the difference is between a Pit Bull and an American Staff, if there even is one... I'm fed up with hearing so much rubbish about it...

Depending on the light, I’d say it’s more of a sable or blue fawn. You often see Amstaffs in those colours that are blue carriers, but then the dog is a proper Red Nose. It’s true they’ve got their charm, but a Red Nose (the nose and eye pigmentation)... that’s not a thing for Amstaffs! lol!

"Well, if you'd actually read what I wrote, you would have seen that I'm well aware it's a recognised breed in certain countries... Just like the breeds not recognised by the FCI that I mentioned earlier. Pff."

Pff? What's with the 'pff'? Just so you know, the link and the photos weren't aimed specifically at you; I posted them on the thread for everyone, not just for you. I've given my point of view, whether you like it or not – that's my right!

And like I said, since I haven't read anything you've written, I'm in no position to judge... and I haven't done so anyway!!

What’s weird is that a Staffie is basically just a Pit Bull with papers and isn’t really considered a dangerous dog, but a Staffie without papers (a Pittie) is.

    It’s a total joke.

But there’s nothing we can do about it.

"To be perfectly honest, no, I haven't read a single word of what you wrote, so I can't really comment on whether what you're saying about Pitbulls is true or not. I only shared that link (and the photos) to show you that even though the breed isn't officially recognised, it definitely exists. That’s it." Well, if you’d actually bothered to read my post, you’d have realised that I’m well aware they’re a recognised breed in some countries... just like the other breeds I mentioned earlier that aren't recognised by the FCI. Pfft.

What's weird is that a Staffy with papers is basically a pit bull but isn't really classed as a dangerous dog, while a Staffy without papers (a pit) is.

    It’s a load of rubbish.

But there’s nothing we can do about it.

"And just worth noting, the dogs in @kallys' photos look a lot like fighting dogs... Loool!!" "Yeah, with their cropped ears they're a bit scary!! lol" "What’s the name of the colour of the first one (the lightest one)?" "I love it!"

And just for the record, those ones in kallys' photos look a lot like fighting dogs..... Loool!! They look really aggressive and not socialised at all, especially considering a show dog has to be handled by the judge... Just a reminder that Staffies are the most common breed at shows these days – for example, there were 420 at the World Dog Show compared to about 200 for the next most popular breeds....!!! And people say the pit bull is a dangerous dog...???

“Thanks @Kallys34, you’re a massive help. Tell me, have you actually read a single word of what I’ve written? ... Look, I’m game. Shall we just pull up every page from every site talking about 'miniature' German Shepherds and those quirky 'designer crosses' that people sell for a profit and want to see officially recognised... or all the 'breeds' not recognised by the Kennel Club? There are loads of them, and I’ve already mentioned a few.”

To be honest, no, I haven’t read a single word of what you’ve written, so I can’t really judge whether what you’re saying about pit bulls is true or not. I just shared that link (and the photos) to show you that even though the breed isn’t officially recognised, it definitely exists. That’s all.

I think regarding the end of your post about the '99 law, everyone’s got my take on it now and can make their own minds up, so I don’t need to go over it again...
