Hi there, I'm thinking about buying a Staffy cross Boxer puppy, but I'm not sure if there is any paperwork I need to do or what category the dog would fall into...? Could you tell me a bit about what you know? The seller is telling me he won't be an aggressive dog, anyway.

Sorry, I didn't realise I was on an old thread. Can't I register her as a Staffy even if she's a pedigree?

@Manuela57777, you should start your own thread rather than jumping on an old one to ask your questions.

(Yes, a non-KC registered AmStaff is considered a pit bull type.)

Well, if he’s not KC registered, he’ll be classed as a banned breed.

Hi, I’ve got a 6-month-old Staffy, but she’s not KC registered. She’s due for her jabs on 6th April, but I’m worried she’ll be classed as a Pit Bull. What can I do? I really don't want to get into any trouble.

I’ve got an Amstaff cross Pitbull and I can tell you the first year is a real struggle financially. You’re looking at roughly £750 to £850 just for the paperwork, neutering, etc...

So, it’s a good idea to wait a bit 👌

I just wanted to add that there are plenty of Boxer-crosses and pedigree AmStaffs in rescue centres.

Here is a rescue that specialises in bull breeds:

    http://molossesallstars.com/category/nos-chiens-a-adopter/

There are loads of Staffies up for adoption, or crossbreeds that aren’t restricted (meaning they’ve been cleared of any legal bans, which is lucky for them).

As for Boxer-specific rescues, there’s this one:

PS: Sorry if I was a bit blunt; it’s just that when I saw that, I immediately thought about the consequences for the pups, as they're the ones who'd be at serious risk.

Yeah, it’s a bit tricky, especially as I’m quite young so I wouldn’t be able to handle everything. I think I’ll wait until I’ve got a bit more money together to get a pedigree! Thanks for replying so quickly! 👍 👍
