Hi everyone,

So, here's the situation: I've just adopted a 2-month-old male Amstaff from a breeder. He's being fed Royal Canin Puppy food, and since yesterday I've noticed his front right leg is positioned weirdly; it looks twisted when he's sitting or standing still (I'll try to upload a photo). I've contacted the breeder who tells me it must be something to do with the dosage of his dry food—either too much or too little calcium—and that his leg will go back to normal once his diet is adjusted. I've tried calling my vet but they don't have any appointments available until 2nd January (I live right out in the sticks). He doesn't seem to be in any pain, he's playing as usual and eating well, but I'm still really worried.

Any advice?

I can't see anything wrong with his paw. Try to keep him from jumping or running around too much until you see the vet, but most importantly, you should change his dry food. It’s really poor quality—too many cereals and poor quality protein. Your puppy will grow much better on a different brand.
