My cat yowls when I touch her tail and hind legs

Hello,

My cat is making angry meows (or is she in pain???) and hissing whenever we touch her tail and hind legs. Even just brushing them with a finger makes her bolt and yowl.

She is two years old and has been spayed.

Up until now, it wasn't too much of a worry, but as of today, she is also hissing when we pick her up. She doesn't seem to have any trouble getting around or jumping (at least, nothing has changed since we got her).

She enjoys the sun and spends her days and nights outdoors. Could this be a behavioural issue?

Thanks for all your replies. I managed to check his back legs as best I could but I didn't see anything. I still can't get anywhere near his tail though... Off to the vet's then!

    Hi,

I agree, she’s definitely in pain.

That's the most common spot for injuries during fights. It might be an abscess (cats are the absolute champions at those! :( ). A trip to the vet definitely wouldn't go amiss.

She might have one or more grass seeds; they’re not easy to spot and they can burrow under the skin. If I were you, I’d get her checked out by the vet.

    Hi there.

I think the areas you’re touching must be quite sore. It would be a good idea to check if there's an injury there.
