Sweating in Sphynx cats

Hi everyone!!!

I was wondering if any other Sphynx "parents" out there have noticed the same thing as me – specifically that my Sphynx smells of sweat, especially when he's sleeping!!

Since he gets chilly at night, he comes and sleeps under the duvet with me, with his head on my arm just like a human!!! The next morning, not only can I smell Peter’s sweat, but I’ve also got marks on my arm and body, which I assume is just my little one's excess sebum!!!!

Obviously, it’s no big deal, but I’m just curious to find out more!!!

Thanks for your replies!!! 🙂

Thanks!! I know Zooplus, I order my litter and some low-cal treats for my two little dogs from there. So, you reckon this dry food is good quality and not too pricey? Thanks a lot for your help. 🙂

You can order them from Zooplus, here are the links:

Right then! I'm going to try and give him a wash, but I'll start off with some wipes first.

    Thanks a lot anyway!!! ✌

Thanks USIBELLE for your reply!! I'm off to buy some baby wipes right now!!!

No, no, it's no trouble at all and, as you say, there's a bit more washing to do, but my morning shower is essential for me anyway 👌

Tell me, do you dry him off after using the wipes? Because my Peter really feels the cold!!! 😉

Your little one is so cute!!! I'm posting some photos of my baby Peter!!!

    .

SELENA123, I give them some biscuits or madeleines if they want them...

Could you tell me where I can find the dry food you mentioned? I'm not familiar with those brands.

    Thanks!!! 🙂

If you buy high-quality dry food, it won't actually work out more expensive because your cats will eat less of it since it's so nutritious. Plus, it'll save you from having to go to the vet for all sorts of health issues caused by that cheap kibble! Brands like Porta 21 and Sanabelle only cost around £2.00 to £2.40 per lb.

    Which treats?

Actually, cheese is fine for cats as well as dogs, but obviously only in small amounts!! Treats are okay every once in a while 👌 I feed them Whiskas dry food for neutered cats; I know it’s not the best, but you see, I’ve got ten cats – all rescues, Peter included – and I'm on a tight budget, so the 'premium' dry food is just too expensive for me!! But they don’t just eat that!!! And they’re all in really good health, including my eighteen-year-old old boy!!!

But what brand of dry food are you using? I also don’t think cheese is very good for cats... and the same goes for cakes...

According to the person I got him from, Sphynxes are smaller than other cats. Peter is in perfect health.

His diet is the same as my other cats': dry food, pouches, chicken, treats, yoghurt, cheese...

I don't have a cat myself, but 6.6 lbs sounds very light. If I'm not mistaken, the smell is also down to the food you're giving them.
