Paw pads peeling off

Hi there,
Unfortunately, it’s impossible to tell exactly what’s going on just from a photo... what you’re describing sounds like dry paw pads. This could be due to physical irritation from the cold, heat, or even a chemical product (like a floor cleaner, for example...). In this case, you’ll need to stay vigilant regarding the risk of infection where the skin is damaged.
However, it could also be the result of a skin condition, whether congenital or acquired, or even vitiligo (which is more common in younger animals and usually presents as non-inflammatory lesions that don't affect their overall health).
There are quite a few possibilities, and they vary in severity. The safest bet would be to keep a close eye on the state of your cat’s pads as well as her general well-being. If things get worse, or if you’d like some reassurance and professional advice, you can always contact a vet.
I hope this has been helpful.
Have a lovely day,
Lucie
What sort of cream did you use on him? For a start, I’d suggest stopping straight away and getting a vet’s opinion. It might not be related, but you can’t be too careful...
Anyway, it’s definitely not normal.
Your cat might not be in pain at the moment, but that could change. I’d really recommend seeing the vet – you should never try to treat them yourself, and never use human products unless they’re officially recognised as pet-safe.
