Hi there,

I've just found this little white lump on my male cat.

White lump on my cat

Should I take him to the vet?

Thanks in advance

So, they were just little warts after all. He’d started scratching at them more and more over time; he had two on his chest, but we’ve had them removed now and he’s been absolutely fine since. The vet told me that some cats aren't bothered by them, so there’s no need to take them off, but as our lad was finding them itchy, it was definitely better to have them removed. Nothing serious anyway :) Thanks for all your *nipple-y* brilliant feedback :P

Haha, thanks so much for all your replies! It’s 4 am and I’m just relaxing in front of the telly with my cat ❤️🐱. He’s letting me stroke his tummy and I find this little lump and go into a total panic. I nearly called the emergency vet—turns out it is indeed just his nipple 😂😂

Just for a laugh, when I first got Iggy, my first cat, I found a little lump on his tummy. I booked an emergency vet appointment, and the vet explained – probably while trying his best not to laugh – that even males have nipples (just like humans). I felt like a right idiot!! 😂😂 Mind you, I would never have even thought about trying to pop it myself! My god!

Is it actually possible to pierce a nipple??? I didn't know that... hang on, I'm going to give it a go... 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

You're right, you shouldn't have done that as it could get infected. You can disinfect the area with some Betadine and keep an eye on how they're doing. If it looks like it's getting infected or if their general health seems to be declining, see a vet; otherwise, just wait the 15 days.

Hi, Did you find out what it was? Has it cleared up? I’ve just found a tiny white spot on our cat's chest too. The vet is coming in a fortnight for their jabs, so I popped it :/ maybe I shouldn't have...

Once that lump starts looking like the one in the photo, you definitely shouldn't hesitate to see the vet! 😁 I can see you’ve got a great sense of humour 😉
