Swollen belly but very skinny

Evening everyone, I've been feeding a stray cat; he comes round every day for his food and a bit of milk. But over the last few days, I’ve noticed he’s lost a huge amount of weight, yet his belly is massive. At first, I thought it was a pregnant female, but no, he’s definitely a male. Unfortunately, he won't let me get near enough to catch him and take him to the vet. I don’t know what to do and I’m really worried about him. He’s my little ginger lad, even though he’s been living rough for years now. Thanks in advance for any advice.

I think I know what’s wrong with him: it sounds like FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis). If he’s dehydrated and skinny but has a bloated belly, then it’s very likely to be that. You need to get him to the vet immediately, by whatever means possible, as it can be fatal.
