My neutered cat bites my clothes and 'gets frisky' while I'm wearing them

Hi everyone, since moving house, my cat has started biting my clothes... specifically soft, fleecy things I'm wearing.

For example, he'll settle on my arm, bite the sleeve of my cardigan and start 'getting frisky' (I don't understand it, as he's supposed to be neutered).

He only does it with me and not my boyfriend, even though we live together.

He even has a favourite item of clothing that I've left on the bed so he can get on with it...

I've been looking things up online and saw something that worried me – it suggested my cat might be ill :,(

That’s why I’m reaching out to you.

So...

Is it because he has an illness and I need to see the vet?

Is it down to the stress of moving house?

Or is it because he wasn't properly weaned and sees me as 'his mum'?

Thanks for your help.

Hi there, If by 'pleasuring himself' you mean he’s mounting things, it’s possible he was neutered later in life and is still going through the motions until his hormone levels have completely settled. There’s always a tiny bit of hormonal influence from organs other than the testicles, but it’s nothing to worry about. Moving house is always stressful for a cat, as they’re very territorial. Chewing on your soft clothes because they carry your scent reassures him, and he’s probably more attached to you than to your boyfriend, which explains why he prefers your arms. As long as there are no other symptoms, I think he’s mainly just looking for some comfort. Give it a bit of time before you start to worry.
