Hi everyone.

So here's what's happened: when I got home from work today, my mum, my brother and I found the bin completely ripped apart with a polystyrene tray that had been "chewed up". There's a very good chance it was my cat, Mystic, who ate it! I only found this out a few hours ago and I haven't got any liquid paraffin! I've no idea how much she might have swallowed. What should I do? Should I take her to the vet tomorrow, bearing in mind that I'm a bit short on cash? (I'm only doing temp work over the holidays to pay for my driving licence). Or should I wait for "symptoms" to appear? (At the moment Mystic is sleeping peacefully on the bed). I'm really scared of losing her because I know it's toxic and could be fatal! Thanks a lot for any advice.

Give an out-of-hours vet a call and ask them, then go straight to the vet tomorrow.

He’s at risk of a fatal bowel obstruction because polystyrene isn't biodegradable and just builds up in the gut... :/

You really need to call an out-of-hours vet, because at times like this, your little kitty has to come before any money worries if you truly care about him :)
