Hi everyone,

I’m posting here because since Friday, my cat's right eye has turned completely black with a slight white reflection. She’s 13 years old now and has never had any health issues! What's more, her behaviour hasn’t changed at all; she isn’t trying to hide away and still has a great appetite. I’ve got an appointment with the vet tomorrow evening, but I must admit I’m really worried (scared it might be a tumour or cancer). I’ve come on here to see if anyone else has been through something similar with their cat...

I’ve attached a photo of her eye; she usually has lovely green eyes!

Thanks to everyone who takes the time to read and reply!

Hi, my cat has just started having the same thing and I can't get a vet appointment for another week.

Could you let me know what the outcome was for your cat's appointment?

    Thanks

Hi there, I’ve got a question – do any of you use Credelio for your pet?

    Hi,

You’ve definitely done the right thing by booking an appointment with your vet. As pets get older, many eye conditions can develop, such as uveitis, lens luxation, or retinal detachment... these may or may not be caused by an underlying issue like high blood pressure or a tumour.

    Have a good day.

Hello, you really need to get them to a vet as soon as possible. Eyes are very delicate. It’s possible that blood vessels have burst, making the eye look black with blood behind the lens. It’s reassuring that their behaviour is normal, but don’t wait too long to get it seen to. If an eye condition is left untreated, a cat can end up losing the eye.
