My cat is eating his own sick

Hi everyone,

About two weeks ago, I rescued a cat that was about to be put down; anyway, he's a 17-year-old male (I’m not 100% sure if that’s his exact age).

The problem is that he’s been sick yesterday and today (yesterday after eating some chicken and today after licking some tomato sauce), and both times he’s gone and eaten it back up.

I find it so strange! Has this happened to anyone else? Does anyone have an explanation for it?

I didn't say right in the middle of the paths, honestly!

And why 'gross'? It’s less disgusting than some public loos and, besides, it’s a natural fertiliser.

I’m not even going to bother replying. I don’t mind them having a wee, but sh***ing right in the middle of the path? I’ve never seen that, and I’ve lived out in the sticks my whole life... if that’s meant to be an insult. If that’s what you’ve got to say, you can stay tucked away in your cities; we’re better off as a "mucky lot" out here.

Yes! Spot on! It’s definitely easier to do your business in the countryside! Mind you, in the city it’s free! 😁

In the city there are public loos as well and they’re free... U.U

Exactly! It's definitely easier for them to do their business out in the countryside! And unlike the city, it’s free! 😁

People and animals aren't exactly going to come knocking on doors. There aren't any loos by the roadside or along the paths.

In town, some people already manage to go just about anywhere; imagine what it's like in the countryside!

I don't mean that as an insult, far from it...

My in-laws aren't used to using the loo, believe it or not...

But out in the countryside, on the paths, everywhere! 😋

Personally, I’m not so sure myself. It’s obviously possible they’d eat human waste since they eat their own, but erm... where exactly are they finding this human poo?!
