My cat has lumps on her tummy

Hi, my cat is 8 months old. She’s eating well, having no issues with her litter tray, she’s playful, etc.—basically just living her life. However, last night while I was stroking her tummy, I realised she had several lumps.

Could anyone tell me if this might be serious? I’m really worried... and since we’re in the middle of the Coronavirus pandemic, my vet isn’t doing consultations today. Thanks for your help.

    Hi there,

How long have these lumps been there? Did they appear overnight or more gradually?

If they developed slowly and feel soft to the touch, they might just be fatty deposits.

Is your cat spayed? If she isn't, it could be her mammary glands swelling as she goes into her first heat.

She is young, so it’s very unlikely to be anything like a tumour.

To rule out the possibility of a wound, an abscess, or cysts, the lumps would need to be examined for signs of inflammation or any discharge.

Don't hesitate to mention this to your vet.

    Have a lovely day.

Hello, my cat is 8 months old, she's eating well, she's perfectly litter-trained, she plays, etc. Basically, she’s just living her life. But last night while I was stroking her tummy, I noticed she has several lumps. Could anyone tell me if it might be serious or not because I’m really worried... and since we’re in the middle of the Coronavirus pandemic, my vet isn't doing any appointments today... thanks for your help. Hi Momo, I agree with Ulalie, we need a bit more info. Are these two lumps close together or quite separate? If you feel one, can you move it separately from the skin or does it feel attached? When you feel them, are they hard or soft? If she’s already got fatty lumps at 8 months, she’s eating too much... 👌 and she’s a bit young for a fibrosarcoma, unless she hasn't been vaccinated or tested and has a viral disease. Without wanting to scare you (it's not an immediate life-or-death emergency), depending on your answers we'll be able to tell you if you need to see a vet quite soon. Looking forward to hearing from you, Liza

What exactly do you mean by ‘lumps’? How many? Are they big or not? Bear in mind that cats that are a bit on the podgy side have two lumps on their belly when you pick them up; they hang down and are quite large. They’re just fatty lumps (not to be confused with the *other* two balls...).

Does she go outside? Is she spayed?

You should see the vet, or maybe a different one to get a second opinion :/
