My cat has lumps on her tummy

Hi, my cat is 8 months old. She’s eating well, having no issues with her litter tray, she’s playful, etc.—basically just living her life. However, last night while I was stroking her tummy, I realised she had several lumps.

Could anyone tell me if this might be serious? I’m really worried... and since we’re in the middle of the Coronavirus pandemic, my vet isn’t doing consultations today. Thanks for your help.

    Hi everyone, I’m in exactly the same situation. I have a 9-month-old female cat and, just as she’s going through her first season, I’ve found some huge lumps, several centimetres across, only on her belly. They seemed to appear almost overnight as I’d bathed her just a few days ago and I brush her often too. She’s an indoor cat. I’m seeing the vet next week, but it looks quite shocking and I’m really worried 😳😕

    Hi, how long have these lumps been there? Did they appear overnight or gradually? If they came on slowly and feel soft to the touch, it might just be fatty tissue. Is your cat spayed? If not, it could be her mammary glands swelling as she comes into her first season. She’s young, so it’s very unlikely to be tumours. To rule out things like a wound, an abscess, or cysts, the lumps would need to be examined for any signs of inflammation or discharge. Don't hesitate to mention it to your vet. Have a nice day. Just to be sure, I took her to the vet and they told me the same thing as you—that it was just due to her first season. Today, the lumps have completely gone. Thanks again!

    @Ulalie, Lizzza, alright then, I’ll go back to being secular... But it means Momo’s cat is still absolutely gutted!

    That photo is hilarious, LOL

    PS

    Momo, are you really 23 or are you the son or daughter of the house and only 8?

    It’s quite common for children to look for advice on forums if they have a cat.

    @Momo

    "they just appeared overnight."

    Do you give your kitty a good fuss every day?

    I sent you a link on "how a pregnant cat behaves", did you have a look at it?

    There’s a whole list: is she showing the signs of a cat expecting kittens?

    Yes or no?

    If yes, which ones? Take some notes and get back to me, otherwise I’ll assume your original question is sorted.

    I hope Momo’s cat hasn’t been knocked up by the cat from the flat above! 😁 I’m afraid she might have, because the ‘cat from upstairs’ definitely still has his balls. 😋

    I hope you’re keeping an eye on her when she’s tethered outside, because your unspayed cat could easily end up expecting kittens; at 8 months old, it’s very likely. Yes, I watch her when she’s outside, I’m out there with her.
