My cat always uses the litter tray during my mealtimes

Same thing happens to me! I sit down to eat and then, ugh, that lovely smell starts wafting over from the litter tray. So I end up getting back up to bin the poo. It stinks because they haven't figured out how to bury it yet. I haven't really noticed if it's every single meal, but since they eat quite often, they usually go right after.
The trick is to get everything ready as if you’re about to eat, but keep in the back of your mind that you’ll probably have to sort the litter tray out before you can actually tuck in, because they’ll definitely go. Once the poo is scooped and binned, the smell usually disappears pretty quickly anyway. It’s only a couple of minutes out of your day, so it's no big deal.
I’m going through the exact same thing with my kitten; she’s 3 months old and the second I take a bite of my meal (breakfast, lunch and dinner), she "bolts" for her litter tray to go to the toilet…
The worst part is she stares right at me while she's doing it 😭😭😭
Yes!
I’ve been looking everywhere for an answer, but there doesn’t seem to be one...
We’re unlucky enough to have the litter tray in our bathroom, which is right next to our living room where we sometimes eat. Honestly, I can’t tell you how off-putting it is. And it’s every single time — as soon as the cat hears us eating, she goes to do her business. She never does it at any other time, only when we’re eating or having a snack; it completely puts you off your food. And don't even get me started on the smell.
