Lump on my cat's tummy

Hi, I had my kitten spayed not long ago (about 5 days ago). She’s 6 months old and there’s a sort of quite large lump on her tummy where the vet did the stitches. It doesn’t seem to be causing her any pain, but I just wanted to find out if this is normal or not.

Thanks in advance, have a good evening.

Hi there, Don't worry, it's quite common for some female kittens to get this kind of 'lump' after being spayed. It goes down gradually over time and isn't painful; it's just part of the healing process. My Siamese went through the same thing and the bump cleared up completely within, say, 2 months. It’s perfectly flat now.

Hi Elise, Yes, it’s about the size of a pigeon egg pushing up the skin. It happens every now and then; it’s just some inflammation. It’ll go down on its own in a few days, and it isn’t painful. (Quite a few cats go through this; I don’t understand why vets don’t bother to warn people.) Goodnight to you and your little kitty.
