Hello everyone,

I’ve got a bit of a problem with my kitten...

There’s a piece of string sticking out of his bottom...

Of course, he won’t let me have a look, and I don't want to hurt him either, so I’m wondering whether I should touch it or not. But there's quite a lot of it hanging out and I'm worried about it getting caught on something...

I’ve got a vet appointment later today, so I’ll definitely bring it up then. I don't know if it'll be sorted by then, but I’ve noticed he really stinks (that’s actually how I found the string; I thought he’d stepped in his poo and got messy, but no!)

Does anyone know what the best thing to do is in this case?

I don’t know where it’s come from, I’ve been so careful not to leave any string lying around. :( He must have found it somewhere, maybe under the bed... I just don’t know. It looks like the kind of string that holds a tag onto something you’ve bought.

He’s been trying to get it out, so there were poo marks all over the floor in front of his litter tray and he won’t stop licking it (the bit of string sticking out)... every time I try to have a look at the string, he panics, so I haven’t managed to get a photo.

Has he had an operation recently?

He must have swallowed some and it’s come out the other end; my cat can never resist having a nibble on things like that...
