Hi everyone! As the title says, my little cat has a hair in his eye. I've been trying to get it out for three days now using saline solution and a gauze pad; sometimes I can't see it anymore, then suddenly he's clearly bothered by it and his eye starts watering. Since he already has an ulcer in his other eye, this hair in the other one is really worrying me.

Is it possible for a hair to stay stuck and not come out? Should I take him to the vet? Or will it eventually clear if I keep using the saline? Thanks in advance for your help! 😌

    Thanks for your replies! I've used some saline, and I can't see the hair anymore; it's either hidden or it came out when I tried to get it out last night. I'm keeping a close eye on him to make sure his eye is okay, especially as the little guy has had an ulcer in the other one for a while now that we're still trying to clear up... Thanks for the advice!

    I’d put a good few drops of saline solution in the eye all at once... but preferably not human saline (the pH is different)... just to ‘flush out’ the hair, and then I’d wipe it after keeping the eye closed for a moment... be careful not to use any gauze that isn't lint-free. Cotton wool can leave fluff behind. If it hasn't cleared up after a few days, then maybe see a vet.
