Hollows on both sides after spaying

Hi everyone,

I've just picked up my cat after she was spayed.

The vet just told me everything went well, so I paid and left.

I hadn't seen her standing up because they brought her back to me straight in her carrier.

When I got home and let her out of her carrier, she can move around okay but there's a hollow on each side. She has her dressing underneath and it looks like it's in good condition.

She’s naturally quite thin, but these two dips on her sides are really worrying me.

I don't know if it's serious or not.

My mum has had several cats and she told me this had never happened to her, so I'm not really sure.

I'm posting some photos, please let me know what you think.

Thanks

Yeah, try not to get ahead of yourself just yet... 😀😀

Wait until tomorrow and let her have a good rest tonight. You'll see how she's doing tomorrow; she should be back to eating and drinking, and moving around a bit (though she might be a little less nimble than usual). Try to keep her inside, don't let her jump on the furniture if you can help it, and make sure she doesn't try to lick her stitches.

    Okay, thanks.

I’ll wait and see how things are tomorrow then.

Or even not going at all... it’s not about the neighbours... oops

Your girl is quite a sight indeed, but I think it’s just because she has such a slight, almost skinny build. Because of the anaesthesia, she would have been fasting, so her tummy will be empty... to me, that’s what’s causing that "hollow" look. Coming home after this kind of op, she’s bound to be a bit disorientated; she might be wobbly on her feet, or she might not move or eat much at all. Just give her some water and let her rest; she should be feeling much better by tomorrow and her behaviour should be back to normal.
